Pruning:

🌿 1. General Pruning , Using the right tools for pruning is essential, we make sure our pruning shears, loppers and saws are all clean, so not to damage or disease. our knowledge of when to prune is vital, for instance we prune spring-flowering shrubs right after they bloom. Shrubs that flower throughout summer will be pruned in late winter or early spring.

🌿 2. Cut at the Right Spot, make cuts just above a bud or branch junction. Angle cuts away from the bud to prevent water from collecting.

🌿 3. Remove the 3 D’s: Always prune Dead, Diseased, or Damaged wood first.

🌿 4. Thin, Don’t Top: For trees, avoid "topping" (cutting off the top). Instead, thin out branches to maintain shape and health.

🌿 5. Don’t Over-Prune: Removing more than 25% of a plant at once can stress it.

🌿 6. Flowering Plants, Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowers. Cut back leggy growth to promote bushiness.

Weeding:

🌿 Why Weeding Makes a Big Difference

  • Prevents Competition: Weeds compete with your plants for sunlight, water, and nutrients. Removing them gives your flowers and veggies the best chance to flourish.

  • Protects Soil Health: Many weeds have aggressive root systems that disrupt soil structure and nutrient balance. Clearing them out helps maintain a stable growing environment.

  • Reduces Pests & Disease: Some weeds attract harmful insects or host plant diseases. By removing them, you're cutting off a potential gateway to trouble.

  • Keeps It Looking Tidy: A well-weeded garden looks cared for,

  • Prepares for Planting: Weeding before planting makes room for new growth, giving you control over what takes root and when.
